Lyla Rogan of Rogan Consulting is based in Canberra and provides consulting services in Australia and abroad.

From 2008 – 2013, Lyla Rogan worked as an independent consultant based initially in Paris and then Boston. During this time she built a strong reputation with international NGOs, UN agencies and faith based organisations in two main areas: strategic planning and organisational development; and, assisting nonprofit organisations working in humanitarian action and international development strengthen their impact, effectiveness, and accountability. Her work took her to Afghanistan, Pakistan, Ethiopia, Kenya, Mozambique, Uganda and the Pacific, as well as the USA, Europe and Australia.

Lyla built her experience, knowledge and approach to consulting with RPR Consulting, a company she co-founded in 1995. As a company director and manager of the Canberra team, she provided consultancy services to federal and state government agencies and non-profit organisations around Australia, eventually gravitating toward the field of international development.

She has written widely on issues concerning the non-profit sector during her time at ACOSS in the 1990’s and as a consultant. In the recent past she co-authored an Australian edition of Mike Hudson’s book Managing without Profit.

Formerly she was Deputy Director of the Australian Council of Social Service (ACOSS) and Operations Manager of a major aged and disability care provider. She has held management and policy advisor positions in government and lectured at two universities in Sydney in the areas of non-profit management and social policy.
